We would like to thank all of those who came out to our free barbecue on Friday, June 2, 2017. The barbecue was held in celebration of more than 70 years of service. It was a beautiful day and a great turnout! More than 400 hamburgers, drinks and ice cream were served to the community in PCU Park.
A ribbon cutting ceremony took place to officially “open” PCU Park to the public. PCU Park was developed last summer by Porcupine Credit Union in an effort to help beautify the empty lot on Main Street. Sod, a sidewalk, benches, stone table and flowers have been a welcome addition to the space.
A $10,000 cheque presentation was made to Chase Place Arena during the barbecue. The funds were received by Porcupine Credit Union through an Empowering Your Community grant by Concentra. The application was made on behalf of Chase Place Arena’s efforts to replace the ice plant at the arena. Porcupine Credit Union was successfully chosen as one of the applications submitted across Canada.
